Currently working with newly joined band Mamas Gun on their fourth studio album, recording with Lucy Rose for her forthcoming album, and touring with R&S artist Lone and singer/songwriters Daudi Matsiko & Mara Simpson.
I was born and raised in East Anglia, where I started working as a freelance drummer and drum teacher in Cambridge then in 2008 I relocated to Brighton to study, where the place quickly became home.
Since graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Musicianship from BIMM I’ve been working as a touring and recording drummer as well as a studio engineer and occasional producer. Previous shows include festivals & headline shows in Europe & Asia with artists Mamas Gun, Florrie & Moya, tours around the UK with Remi Miles, Kitchen Party, My Life Story, House of Hats and countless other shows dotted about the UK. A couple random festival slots of note include Glastonbury 2010 with Luke Sital-Singh & Download Festival 2010 with 30 Seconds to Mars. For a more comprehensive list of gigs see my Music CV.
Studios i’ve worked in include Abbey Road, RAK & Miloco’s Pool Room. I started engineering for studio sessions out of necessity and quickly found a passion for audio recording and producing music, I started working on EP’s and singles for artists including Daudi Matsiko, Josh Bevan & Matthew & The Oxx. My works as a producer have been played on BBC Radio1, 6Music and received support from DJs including Tom Robinson and personal hero Gilles Peterson.
“Chris is my go to guy for my drum sessions, a professional through and through. No matter what style of track Chris consistently delivers the goods with tight and imaginative drumming. He also puts in his homework, I’ve sent him tracks the night before the session and he still comes in knowing the arrangement from start to finish. For me, part of being a good session musician is having the ability to adapt to whatever the client throws at you and Chris has consistently shown that he is more than up to this task. He is also patient and calm, communicates well and just a thoroughly lovely bloke.” - Tim Bidwell (Music Producer)
